Dallas Zoo Has A Secret Safari Tour You Need To Know About
You've never been to the zoo like this before!
The Dallas Zoo is a great place to spend the day. Most of the time going to the zoo means walking around and having a self-guided tour, typically far away from all of the beautiful animals. The Dallas Zoo is now offering a backstage safari tour that you will go crazy over. The experience means getting to talk to experts and ask them all your burning questions while being guided through multiple hands-on animal experiences.
Visitors get a 90-minute tour where they get to see what an average day as a zoologist is like. They will also get to participate in an actual training session with a gorilla family. This means getting up close and personal with their baby gorillas Saambili and Mbani, which is something almost no one else gets to do!
Feeding the giraffes is an important part of every zoo trip and during the backstage safari tour you’ll not only get to feed the giraffes, you’ll also get to feed the endangered okapi. You can get your photo taken with the okapi so you’ll have a one of a kind souvenir to remember your trip by. But the fun doesn’t stop there, you will also get a chance to hang with tamanduas, flamingos and an African created porcupine.
The backstage tour is only running until November 6th and only takes place on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tickets range from $85 to $125 depending on if you’re a zoo member or not. All visitors taking the tour have to arrive at 9:45 a.m. and you'll get a commemorative cup and $1 refills all day long.
