Houston is a city known for a thriving food culture, a diverse, little corner of Texas that people from all over the world call home. Luckily we get the chance to celebrate these cultures, and now can add Houston's immersive Viet Cultural Festival to the list on September 28.

This is the first year the event is coming to Houston, but there will be no shortage of activities and food for you to experience. And if you've ever had Vietmanese pho or wings, you know exactly why we are counting down the days for this fest!

Tickets for this festival are super cheap at $7 for advance tickets and $10 for day of tickets. We suggest you hopping on that right now for a discount. There will be food vendors offering authentic cuisine, from ramen and wings, to Vietmanese drinks. There's even a Pho eating contest!

While you give your belly a break, play traditional games or enter the lantern, lighting contest to celebrate this Mid-Autumn holiday. If you're feeling your inner pop star coming out to play, there's also a talent search for singers, dancers, and group performers. Make sure to register before the festival though.

Not that everything has to be a contest, but the Viet Cultural Festival is a celebration that is welcome to all. The best part of living in a city like Houston is getting the chance to discover new cultures, or find events that remind you of home

The event is taking place at NRG Park, so plan ahead for parking.
