Houston's Huge Street Painting Festival This Month Will Turn The City Into A Masterpiece
A colorful extravaganza.
Houston is showing its true colors soon thanks to an amazing festival that will turn the city into a giant outdoor art gallery. Via Colori is the Houston street painting festival you were waiting for. The fest will be filled with amazing chalk art, live entertainment, great food, and fun.
This November 23 and 24, the streets of Downtown Houston will receive the magical touch of more than 200 local, national and international artists. The amazing murals will be everywhere, so watch your step! General Admission for this cool event is only $7 in advance ($10 at the gates) and all money raised goes to The Center for Hearing and Speech.
The festival is an excellent opportunity for artists to show their talent with pastel chalk, but also for attendees to see unique street art pieces. They will only exist for two days and then will become only memories.
The artists also see in the event an excellent opportunity to support a good cause: help impaired hearing children have a better life quality.
Besides art, the festival-goers will also enjoy tons of live music and entertainment. There will be no one but three different stages in the premises with a variety of live performances from local artists and musicians.
As a family-friendly event, Via Colori is bringing fun for all ages. That's why they have created the Via Bambini neighborhood, a spot where guests can create their own street art masterpieces!
And there will be food and drinks, of course. A wide variety of yummy treats and beverages will be available for sale all over the festival grounds, that will be happening at Downtown Houston at City Hall and the surrounding streets of McKinney, Bagby, and Walker.
Alcoholic beverage options will also be available for 21 and older guests.
Although it may sound strange to create art in the rain, this is a "sprinkle or shine" event. However, organizers have informed that if severe weather is expected both days, then the festival will be moved to an alternate location. You can check the weather section of their website the day before the event to make sure or call 713-523-3633.
The festival will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Don't miss this one of a kind event in the city.
