Organic blueberries are definitely one of the most pricey fruits at the supermarket. However, they're so good that we're always trying to find a way to stock up on them without breaking our bank. Texans are in luck because the Moorhead's Blueberry Farm in Houston is opening back up for visitors this May for you to handpick unlimited amounts of the all-natural berries. Stretching over a beautiful 20 acres, you can find and pick over 20 varieties of Southern Rabbiteye Blueberries. Located between Kingwood and the Woodlands, you can take a quick trip over to support your local farm. (And don't forget the other farms near town, especially the one with llamas.) There is no entry fee and you can even try free samples. Just pay $3 per pound you pick and load up buckets and buckets of the hand-picked goodies. Even the buckets are provided. Founded in 1977, this is the oldest blueberry farm in the state of Texas. The farm does not accept credit or debit cards, so be sure to remember to bring cash or check. They never use pesticides on their berries, so you can feel confident as you taste away! They normally stay open from May through the middle of July. They're even open on July 4 for the true red, white, and blue experience. View this post on Instagram you’re turning violet, Violet! But don't stop there—there's still more fun for the pickin'. This spring, you can also pick some juicy strawberries from a flower farm near town.
