What makes the holidays so magical is the ambiance: towering trees, the smell of pine, and of course, the warm glow of twinkling lights. All over the world, people decorate their homes, businesses, and communities to transform them into illuminated wonderlands during the holiday, so much so that it’s even become a worldwide competition. And soon, one of the world’s best light displays in St. Augustine will be opening soon.\nThe award-winning display will be showing for the 26th year in a row, and you can even take a trolley through the best areas.\nView this post on Instagram Like many things in life, travel doesn’t always go as planned. Up until about a month ago, we thought we’d be in Germany, but unexpected changes left us with a couple vacation days and an open weekend. So we redirected our compass toward Saint Augustine, a little slice of Europe in Florida. While there were no Christmas Markets, the breathtaking beauty of the Nights of Lights festival, combined with the spontaneity of the trip and the memories created made for one magical mini-getaway. Most importantly, it didn’t matter where we were or what we were doing, as long as we were making quality time for the two of us. And time is the most valuable gift you can give this time of year. ❤️ A post shared by Gina Kramer (@gina.kramer) on Dec 10, 2018 at 7:53am PST\nThis historic town of St. Augustine is already a big travel destination for visitors all over the world, being the oldest city in the U.S. and known for its beautiful Spanish architecture.
