Scoring an awesome deal on something always sweetens the experience, especially when it’s something you’ve really wanted. And while there are tons of amazing things to do at Orlando’s main attractions, the parks get can pretty expensive after a while. Thankfully, the City Beautiful is full of awesome experiences that are totally free to check out! Here are some awesome free things to do in Orlando.

Lake Eola Pagoda

Address: 512 East Washington Street, Orlando, FL 

Why You Need To Go: Lake Eola is found in the heart of downtown Orlando, approximately .9 miles of beautiful walkways that wrap around the water, leading you through trees, past shops, and around interesting pieces of art. The bright red Chinese pavilion is one such piece. It was gifted to the city in 1987 by Chinese-American philanthropist Dr. Nelson Ying to beautify downtown.

Popcorn Flicks in Winter Park

When: Every second Thursday of the month 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 

Address: Park Avenue & Garfield Avenue Winter Park, FL 

Why You Need To Go: A movie under the stars is never a bad idea, and every second Thursday of the month, you can gather with friends in the community park in Winter Park and catch the streaming movie of the night. Bring snacks, blankets, chairs, and even your furry friends as long as they’re leashed.  

Art After Dark: Food Truck Edition

When: Art After Dark is hosted every Friday, with each food truck edition happening on the first Friday of every month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why You Need To Go: Lake Nona’s Art After Dark fest is a weekly event showcasing local crafts, music, and food. Recently, they’ve added the amazing food truck edition, which is every first Friday of the month. Check out all the best food trucks in one spot, and its free admission! 

The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art

Address: 445 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL

Why You Need To Go: Museums are a great place to visit for inspiration or even just general eye-candy, and the Morse Museum in Winter Park has amazingly colorful exhibits and pieces of historic art and architecture that are completely free to enjoy.


Tour the Greenwood Cemetery

Address: Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood Street, Orlando, FL 

Why You Need To Go: On select nights throughout the year, you can take a hauntingly beautiful tour through the Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando. The tour is approximately two miles through 100-acres and you'll visit historic graves of Orlando’s history. The tour is free but requires booking in advance. 

Hike Spring Hammock Preserve

When: Open daily, dawn to dusk

Address: 2985 Osprey Trail, Longwood, FL

Why You Need To Go: This dense jungle oasis is the perfect trail for both beginners and seasoned hikers. The whole preserve is about 1,500 acres and there are several different boardwalk trails to check out — with one leading to a beautiful view of Lake Jesup.
