Orlando Is Having A Massive Greek Festival With Tons Of Mediterranean Food This Weekend
If you’ve ever gazed upon a photo of the white-washed buildings of the Greek islands with their blue domed rooves and the ocean shimmering in the background, you probably couldn’t help but sigh with envy. Not only is the Greek backdrop one you could stare at endlessly, but the food is simply made for the gods. Savory baklava, hearty moussaka, tender souvlaki, and some ouzo to wash it all down. Well, make sure you come hungry to enjoy the city's massive Orlando Greek food fest this weekend!
The Orlando Greek Fest is one its 39th annual run this year, so you know they’re doing something right. Held at the Holy Trinity Church in Maitland, it’s not just about food.
There will be amazing dance performances by The Holy Trinity’s Hellenic Dance Program, and musical performances by A Night In Athens. Music by George Antonopoulos, “the Greek Elvis,” while surely have you dancing in your seat.
The schedules are jam-packed from Friday through Sunday, so no matter what time you show up, there will be tons to do and enjoy. There will also be tours of the church and iconography presentations for the history and architecture buffs.
The menu is authentic and very extensive. But if you find yourself a little overwhelmed and unable to pronounce some of the names, there will also be more domestic things like pizza available. But we think this is the perfect time to get adventurous and try all the new foods!
Parking at the church is $5, but if you can’t find a spot and have to go farther, there is a shuttle that will take you over to the festival.
