You Can Actually Play The New Borderlands 3 In July At This Convention In Orlando
They even raise money for a good cause!
When it comes to new games, we gamer geeks tend to get REALLY hyped for them. We wait for gameplay footage to be released, constantly Google for new info, and relish at the mere idea of getting a chance to play a snippet of the game before release. You can actually play the new Borderlands 3 at Guardian Con this July in Orlando.
Guardian Con all started as a small Destiny community event and has grown into something HUGE. The event this year is coming to Orlando, with some big developers in gaming showing up. You'll see big names like Gearbox & 2k, the creators of Borderlands, as well as Bungie, the minds behind Destiny and Halo, and even the people behind Warframe.
All days of the convention will feature a MASSIVE vendor market, where you can show your fandom pride with merch and collectibles to take home. There's always a little bit of everything under the sun, from art prints to plushies, to figures, collectibles, custom controllers and even apparel.
You can also listen to keynote speakers on the mainstage - including announcements about up and coming projects, and party style entertainment.
What we really came for is the games though, right? If you're done listening to people talk about games and want to get hands-on time with Borderlands 3, head on over to the game hall for the chance to play. Now might be the best time to whip out your favorite Borderlands character cosplay. Be sure to read their cosplay guidelines if you plan to dress up.
The most recent gameplay footage looks seriously SICK too - you can see 17 minutes of the Mech-Marchin' Gunner Moze gameplay below.
If you don't want to spoil Borderlands 3 for yourself, head on over to the event's arcade to satisfy your button mashing needs - after all, one of the best parts about playing a new game is experiencing it from start to finish for the first time.
They'll also be hosting an evening event called Rare Drop; a giant roast of the gaming industry full of jokes and overall hilarity. This will let you see the other side of gaming - the humor and personality of those behind your favorite titles.
Other than offering massive amounts of con-entertain and a chance to play Borderlands 3, Guardian Con works to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. They've raised well over 4.5 million for St. Jude from 2016-2018 alone according to their website.
Proceeds earned for the charity come from event purchases, donations, and their partnered charity streams on Twitch.
If you don't think you'll be hitting up the event in July, Guardian Con is working with streamers on Twitch to raise money for the St. Jude's Charity, or you can donate through their website. You can see the stream schedule in a post from their Twitter page below.
