It's almost the most wonderful time of the year and that means the city will be decked out with colorful lights. Lights of the World in Phoenix is returning this year with brand new lanterns and lights appearing for the first time ever in Arizona. This is one light festival you don't want to miss.

On Nov. 21, you and your friends can head down to the Arizona State Fairgrounds in Phoenix and explore a massive illuminated wonderland. The fairgrounds will have over 65 light displays using over six million lights! You'll also be able to enjoy over 20 carnival rides and games. They are included in your admission ticket.

There's a $10 cash-only parking fee and the cost of admission will be available here soon. While you're snacking on carnival food, you can walk through displays that showcase different cultures from around the world.

Some of the displays include the Lantern Blossom which showcases a traditional Chinese lantern overflowing with beautiful and bright flowers and the Taj Mahal in India.

You can also enjoy an oceanic light display with glowing jellyfish and turtles, then slowly make your way into the Jurassic with T-Rexes and many more. Don't worry they won't bite.

The fun doesn't stop there! Your ticket also includes free admission to the acrobat or sea lion show. This year the light show will run from Nov. 21, 2019 - Jan.12, 2020. You can visit Tuesday through Sunday from 5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

When you're done exploring, you and your friends or S/O can ride the Ferris wheel or try your hand at some fair games. It will be chilly in the desert, so it's best to bring a light sweater.

If not, you can cuddle up with your S/O and make a date night out of it. Whether you're a fan of lights or fairground fun this light show will get you into the holiday spirit.
