Michigan is blessed with the Great Lakes and all of the gorgeous nature that comes with it. The Pictured Rocks Natural Lakeshore is home to some of the most beautiful spots in the state. Chapel Rock is one of those that you simply have to see. The trail that takes you to Chapel Rock is a good one for people that want a pretty laidback hike with an awesome destination at the end of it. The trail is 3.3 miles long and will take you right to the shore. If you park at the end of Chapel Rock Road, you can head right onto the trail and start to enjoy the beautiful nature immediately. When you're walking towards the gorgeous Lake Superior, you'll also pass by Chapel Falls, which is a breathtaking sight. This sight is located in the Upper Peninsula of the state. It's fairly isolated, but it's so worth the trip. Your next summer vacation could be defined by a road trip to one of the most stunning spots in Michigan. Chapel Rock is just one of the incredible rock formations that line this beach. The rock, like the cliffs on the beach surrounding it, are multicolored because of all of the minerals that make up the rock. People here love this rock so much that it was even on our 2018 quarter representing Michigan. Fell in love with this big body of water but Lake Michigan will always be my favorite :) A post shared by old account (@awaken.pure.being) on Jul 10, 2016 at 9:56am PDT The white pine that grows on top of the rock is estimated to be about 250 years old.
