Silver Lake Trail sits in Utah's American Fork Canyon. The entire area offers a variety of hiking trails, spots, and other outdoor activities for you to try.
This particular trek lets you visit not just one, but two magical lagoons for double the reward after a long climb.
According to the Forest Service's website, the central path is a 2.3-mile journey that leads you to Silver Lake.
To reach the trailhead, the website recommends taking I-15 to Alpine Exit 284. For seven miles, follow highway 92 east.
The Alpine Loop continues toward North Fork, where you will take a left onto Highway 144.
As you head toward Granite Flat Campground, keep an eye out for a dirt road before the turnoff on the righthand side. Follow that to Silver Lake Flat.
You will find the trailhead and parking on the north side of the reservoir turnoff.
Fees to access the area cost $6 for a three-day pass, meaning you can come back for more adventures over the next two days.
You can choose to turn around from there or continue up to Silver Glancefurther down a smaller "hiker" trail.
The smaller human-made path deviates from the main one right before the first.
As you climb higher, the views get more spectacular, and the secondis simply breathtaking.
