Did you know bats are the entire reason we get to enjoy margaritas? Long story short, you can't have tequila without agave and you can't have agave without bats! If that doesn't make bats interesting to you, that's okay. These nocturnal mammals are super cool for a number of reasons and it turns out the largest bat colony in the world resides near the wonderful city of San Antonio. It's like they say, everything is bigger in Texas.\nBracken Cave Preserve is home to an estimated 20 million Mexican Free-tailed Bats from March to October. During this time of the year, groups of people are allowed to go on the property and experience what is called an emergence. All 20 million bats soar out from the cave which they've roosted in during the day and spiral through the sky for their nightly insect hunt. For the Adult Evening Bat Flight it's only $10 per person and is limted to 18 and up. Morning Flight Returns are also available so that you're able to see the bats return to roost.
