The San Antonio Zoo is constantly putting on events unlike any other zoo in the state, and this month is jam-packed full of them. A new Monarch Fest in San Antonio is the perfect way to spend a spring day in the city. You'll get to learn all about monarch butterflies while participating in fun games and activities that'll remind us all how special they are.

Monarch Fest at the San Antonio Zoo is the first of its kind. This two-day fest is taking place on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29.

San Antonio became the first Monarch Champion City, chosen by the National Wildlife Federation back in 2017, so it's incredibly fitting that the event would take place here!

At the fest, you'll not only leave with incredible knowledge on all things monarch but also free native milkweed and native nectar plant seeds.

It may not sound like much, but these two items are incredibly handy and will make your space even better than it was before.

There aren't very many places where you can get either for no cost at all, so it's pretty sweet that you can enjoy such great plants at this event.

Games will be played and crafts will be made while you learn how you can help end the extinction of the monarch butterfly

The best part of it all is that the event is included in your purchase of a single-day ticket for either day.

Single-day tickets for adults are $18.41 and $14.55 for kids. They can be purchased here.

Note that Annual Pass holders get in for free.

Come prepared to leave with a new appreciation for the beautiful monarch butterfly.
