This Free-Admission Central Florida Garden Will Turn Into An Illuminated Wonderland Soon
When the lights go down in the city, the lights go up in the gardens!
Almost everyone can agree that one of the best things about the holidays is the lights; getting in the holiday spirit in Florida would be hard without them after all. Those looking for free places to see Christmas lights in Florida this Holiday season can add The Florida Botanical Gardens to their list.
The Holiday Lights in the Garden event returns for its 19th year to The Florida Botanical Gardens, with a sea of 1 million LED lights illuminating their gardens, with their newly built Wetlands Walkway joining this year's event. You can wander winding trails all while soaking up all that holiday splendor. They'll even have laser lights illuminating the night.
The lights aren't the only thing awesome about this event. You'll be able to indulge in scrumptious snacks & drinks — we hope there's hot cocoa. Nightly performers that will rotate throughout the event's season, and they are currently accepting volunteers looking to showcase their talents.
You might also stress out a little when it comes to holiday gift shopping or like to put it off until last minute (guilty). Maybe you'll find something that makes a great gift from their Botanical Bounty Gift Shop in the main plaza or the cutest seasonal decor inside of the main building. Both will be open nightly.
If you happen to have little ones, kids can even visit Santa who pops in periodically up through December 23rd, just call ahead to see if he had to return to the North Pole to help the elves make toys. Or you can take your pupper to see Santa since The Florida Botanical Gardens are pet-friendly.
The best part? This is a Christmas Lights festival that won't hurt the wallet. Admission to the; a $5 donation per person 13+ is suggested to help keep the grounds beautiful for years to come but is not required.
Holiday Lights in the Garden will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. nightly starting Friday, November 29th. The last day to get your Christmas light fix will be Saturday, Jan. 4th, 2020. We're already dreaming of the lights, even if it won't be a white Christmas in the Sunshine State.
