As 2019 comes to a close, we're all reminiscing on the good, the bad, and the ugly that we went through this year — 2020 is gonna be our year, and we're ready to ring it in right with an all-new tradition for New Year's in Tampa. After years of watching a glittering disco ball drop into the city as your maker for the new year, Tampa will change things up with an event that they're calling The New Yarrgh's Eve Booty Drop. The pirate-themed event will be family-friendly, free, and full of fun leading up to the main event: the dropping of a 320 foot, 3-D mapped projection of a treasure chest. As the clock counts down to midnight, you can watch the booty drop accompanied by visual effects and pyrotechnics that will create a dazzling display as it lights up the side of the Rivergate Tower building visible from the event venue.
