What is better than the Florida Strawberry Festival? A dog-friendly strawberry festival, obviously! On March 2, New Port Richey will turn into the ultimate dog lover's strawberry festival.\nBeing pet-friendly is just one of the many reasons Cindy's Pets Strawberry Festival is better than the 11-day Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City. First of all, it is closer to Tampa, there will be dog agility courses, a dog show, tons of strawberry treats for both you and your furry friend, and it is totally free!\nOf course, the Florida Strawberry Festival is better if you like to pay money for admission and want to leave your furbaby at home missing you. (Seriously, what kind of monster would do that?!)\nThe event will take place on Saturday, March 2, from 10 am to 3 pm in Downtown New Port Richey - a town about 20 miles north of Tampa. There will be tons of vendors, food, raffles, a kid zone, and more.\nThe official event flyer is posted below:\nVia Event Bright\nREAD ALSO: Thousands Of Retired Florida Racing Dogs Are About To Flood Shelters And Rescues\nBy attending the event you will be supporting a non-profit volunteer organization called Cindy's Pets. Cindy's Pets is dedicated to helping senior citizens and their pets. Their official website states their mission as the following:\n"Organizers were told that Senior Citizens participating in Pasco County’s Meals on Wheels Program frequently had to give a portion of their food to their pets due to financial reasons, this group got together and decided to do something about that. After all, those pets are often the Senior’s only companion. As a result, Cindy’s Pets decided to deliver pet food for the pets of Seniors who participate in the Meals on Wheels program, thereby assuring that both the Seniors and their pets have plenty to eat."\nREAD ALSO: Raccoons Carrying Deadly Virus Found In A Florida Dog Park\nTo learn more about Cindy's Pets click here.\nTo register your talented or super cute pet for one of their shows click here.
