These Tropical North Texas Gardens Will Make You Feel Like You're In The Amazon
All the perks at a fraction of the cost!
The world has tons of amazing places to visit that are totally breathtaking. Unfortunately, traveling the world can be quite expensive. Well if you're lucky enough to be in Texas, you have just about everything within an eight-hour drive. The Amarillo Botanical Garden has a little adventure within it, having a Tropical Conservatory that will really make you feel like you're in the Amazon.
The conservatory is often referred to as an oasis in the Texas Panhandle and has a hidden waterfall inside that tops off the entire thing. The glass building lets in so much light but with all the trees and plants, there is plenty of cool shade. The conservatory is open year round so you can even get a little taste of the heat during the winter. Inside you might find a bird or two and maybe even butterflies when the weather is right.
Just outside the conservatory, there is a Japanese garden. The garden has several levels to it and even has a koi pond. The garden is tucked away from the rest of the conservatory, making it the perfect spot for a day in the garden without too many people killing your zen vibes.
The Amarillo Botanical Garden is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and from 1 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $5 daily for adults.
The Amarillo Botanical Gardens are located at 1400 Streit Drive, Amarillo, Texas. For more information, you can visit their website here.
