This Giant Georgia Food Festival In November Is A Deep-Fried Southern Feast
It's a catfish heaven!
Chances are you've never heard of Kingsland, Georgia, but the tiny Southern town makes a big statement when it comes to flavor. If you're on the hunt for some finger-licking, fried goodness that only the South can serve up, make your way down to the coast of Georgia for this upcoming food festival, where catfish is the star of the show.
Kingsland is hosting the Catfish Festival, where you'll see the iconic staple food of the South used in everything from nuggets to sandwiches and more. Since the town is right on the Georgia coast (a quick drive to ), you can expect the freshest batch of fish.
It's all about catfish that day, but you'll have access to all the fixings and sides that your heart desires. Whether you load up on a $10 catfish tray with fish fillets, coleslaw, hush puppies, grits and tea or grab some potato twisters from one of the local vendors, you'll walk out the festival happy and full.
The festival is truly an all-day affair, with the schedule of events kicking off at 7 a.m. with a massive pancake breakfast. For only $5, you can treat yourself to pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee - that price might even beat the deals you score at Waffle House.
Between kick-off and closing at 8 p.m., there will be a 5K, parade, and live entertainment, so you can either burn off the calories you inhaled or just sway back and forth to the music.
Admission to the festival is free, so you can save your coins for a catfish plate or some $5 beer and wine.
Bring your hungriest friends and even your pup (who's allowed as long as they're leashed) and make a trip down to the coast for some warmer weather and Southern treats.
If you geek out on fried fish, thisin Atlanta is sure to have all your cravings too.
