Tallulah Gorge State Park is located in Tallulah Falls. Tucked away in the northern part of the state's mountains, you know you'll be in for some seriously .
This park has many hiking opportunities waiting for you to explore, but the Tempesta & Hurricane Falls Trail will take you to see the best that it has to offer.
You'll get the chance to walk across a swaying 80-feet above the gorge's rocky floor, overlooking the river and waterfalls that flow below it.
The actual Hurricane Falls that you'll be led to will mesmerize you with itsthat you might not believe is real.
This trail is labeled as a more difficult hike because of all the stairs you'll have to climb and the rocky terrain along the way.
It's only about 2-miles round trip, but you'll have to overcome throughout your journey — and the payoffs are totally worth the challenge.
You'll not only hit Hurricane Falls on this trail, but you'll also get a few glimpses of Tempesta Falls, too.
You'll need a permit if you want to hike down to the bottom of the gorge though, which are temporarily suspended due to the center being closed on weekends.
While you can't travel down to the gorge floor right now, as you cross the suspension bridge, you'll be able to take all theof the falls and hear the sounds of their rushing waters.
