Do you remember those days when twelve-year-old you dreaded turning the light off downstairs at night and bolting to your room as fast as you could? Some of us never grew out of that. But if you're the type who loves a good supernatural story, this is for you. Did you know that you can be haunted by celebrity ghosts in California?

These spooky rumors have us on the edge of our seat. It might be March, but that doesn't mean you can't book a frightfully-awesome staycation.

Hollywood has numerous locations people claim are haunted. You can thank the film industry for that.

According to reports, these former stars aren't ready to lay to rest just yet. If you're down for a little ghost hunting, here's who might be passing (or should we say floating?) by.

The 1950s Blonde Bombshell, Marilyn Monroe

As the legend goes, this 1950s iconic hangs around The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Supposedly, she haunts her old room (1200) where she used to live during the hey-day of the biz. Maintenance workers told The Hollywood Reporter they've also seen her reflection as a little girl in a blue dress in the mirrors.

Funny Man, John Belushi

It's no secret that John liked to party at the Chateau Marmont during his day. So maybe he still likes to stop by in the afterlife. We have to admit, we're a little spooked by the story.

In 1999, a family on vacation noticed their toddler was laughing alone in the hotel room. According to The Travel Channel, when they asked him why, he would say "the funny man."

On the way out of the hotel, the boy pointed to a picture of John Belushi and yelled, "the funny man!" Looks like somebody made a new friend.

Location: Chateau Marmont, 8221 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA

The King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley

From the looks of things, the ghost of Elvis gets around.

He's been spotted in numerous places around the U.S., including the Knickerbocker Hotel in Los Angeles (which are now apartments). Fans might also find him at Graceland (of course) and the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel.

Hollywood's Original Hearthrob, Rudolph Valentino

Have you ever heard of Hollywood's original heartthrob? Rudolph Valentino was all the rage in 1920s Los Angeles.

After he passed away, his spirit has allegedly wandered around the Falcon Lair mansion in Beverly Hills and none other than The Knickerbocker Hotel. He's also been spotted at the historic Hotel Alexandria, so make sure to keep an eye out.

Location: 501 S Spring St., Los Angeles, CA

Master Illusionist, Harry Houdini

Did you know that you can rent out Houdini's actual mansion in Los Angeles through Airbnb?

Since it comes with a pretty high price tag, it's only affordable if you can get a group of friends to pitch in. Rumor has it, his ghost wanders still the house. So if you can see him, that's totally worth it, right?

Location: Houdini Mansion, Los Angeles, CA
