You don't have to travel to Maine or Maryland to get some of the best seafood in the country. The Carolina coast has plenty of delicious foods of the sea and you can eat lots of it this fall. This massive free seafood festival in North Carolina will satisfy your maritime munchies to the max.

The North Carolina Seafood Fest 2020 will be back and better than ever this October, taking over Morehead City right on the shore.

The annual fest is a not-for-profit event hosted by the citizens of Carteret county citizens. The fests aims to highlight the importance of seafood in eastern North Carolina.

With over 100 food vendors and 200 thousand attendees each year, this food extravaganza marks one of the largest celebrations in the state.

Admission is free of charge and you can chow down on some unique and fresh nautical fare including chowder, charcoal mullet, sea urchin on a stick, calamari, marinated eel and shrimp burgers.

You can enjoy cold adult beverages from Oyster Rock Pub while listening to live music from local musicians and watching street clowns perform.

You can even channel your inner beach bum with this year's "Beach Music Adventure" theme on the main stage.

Food must be purchased separately but your money will be well spent, as you'll be contributing to the organization's mission to promote the positive social and economic impact of the local seafood industry.

This three-day fiesta is more than just a foodie frenzy - it's a full-on carnival. There will tons of dizzy rides, slides, a ferris wheel and more.

You can also enjoy the famous boat show and catch the pros at their finest during the pier fishing competition.

This will be the 34th festival since its debut in 1987 and has donated over $1.8 billion of proceeds to several Carteret County non-profit groups.
