There Is An Entire Tiny Home Village In Florida And You Can Stay In One For Super Cheap
A piece of paradise.
Southwest Florida is one of the most underrated tourist locations but one of the most peaceful havens. A road trip to this side of Florida will give you a glance of tropical exuberance. Matlacha Tiny Village is the perfect cheap summer destination that features the most picturesque tiny home rentals.
This former RV park turned into an entire village of pastel-hued tiny homes and has since attracted hundreds of visitors from Canada, Europe, and the United States. The tiny homes are about 200 square feet; basically the size of a garage. The village has five different types of units starting at $129 a night including the Mermaid, Flamingo, Dolphin, Margarita and Alligator village.
Each rental comes with community amenities including BBQ grill, dock, deck and kayak launch. Most tiny homes sleep about four people and include a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, induction cooktops, and a coffee maker.
The village is located in Pine Island in a secluded art district offering art galleries, restaurants, and boutique shops. Visitors can enjoy incredible seafood with bay view seating and the marina lifestyle.
There are many activities to enjoy around the village such as fishing, biking, and hiking at Cayo Costa State Park. The park has nine miles of beautiful beaches and pine forests to make your stay feel foreign.
Besides outdoor activities, the village has nearby shops with tropical-inspired merchandise and unique curiosities.
This tiny bit of paradise provides cozy accommodation to the adventure traveler. All units are decorated with tropical tchotchkes and painted with bright colors. Matlacha Tiny Village feels like a distant island from a metropolitan city and a place where sunsets are eternal.
According to the village's official website, the units have varying availability. Most weekends are completely booked up for the foreseeable month of June, but weekdays are less booked. You can see the available units here.
So what are you waiting for? It's affordable and there is still some availability left. Book your stay today!
