There's A Hidden Bright Blue Spring In Alabama & It's Perfect For A Summer Dip
Just looking at it is cooling us down!
The hot days of summer are almost upon us, and you will undoubtedly be looking for somewhere to cool off. But before heading to the local wave pool, you will want to check out this natural bright blue spring in Alabama. Appropriately named Blue Springs, this hidden swimming hole in Clio is exactly what your 2020 travel bucket list needed.
Not to be confused with, this hidden Alabama gem features a natural sandy-bottom pool fed by an underground spring that pumps out 3,600 gallons of water per minute. What's more, the water stays a constant 68-degrees so it can be enjoyed year-round.
The water is crystal clear and plays host to some aquatic life; making it a great spot to fulfill your inner marine biologist aspirations for a day.
When you are done swimming you can head over to the trails and enjoy many other park amenities like the volleyball courts, fishing pond, or have a picnic under a park pavilion.
If one day at the park just isn't enough, well, then we have good news.
There are 47 campsites to rest up at, some of which have hookups. For those who are tent-camping in the modern and primitive areas, a bathhouse is close by.
While you might not find, you might be lucky enough to see a mermaid.
