From the smell of the books to the creaky wooden floors, there really isn't anything else like walking into one of these cozy little shops for bibliophiles. There's one bookstore in Savannah that's a true hidden gem, with affordable reads, and even a tiny coffee shop. The Book Lady Bookstore in Savannah is so small that if you blink while you pass it, you'll probably miss it. It's nestled into the side of a building with a red door, so that'll tell you if you've made it to the right place or not. This spot has thousands of titles ranging from new, gently used, rare, and exclusive out-of-print reads. View this post on Instagram I’m glad I grew up with a crooked back with a lumbar hump that more than slightly resembled Quasimodo😅 ♥️ I’m glad I grew up different. In the moment it didn’t feel good. I would wear massive belts to try to hide the intense curve of my spine. ♥️ At it’s worst, even the baggiest clothes wouldn’t hide it. I remember being 16 and crying to my mom before a church service. I was wearing the baggiest clothes I owned, and you could still see the curve in my back. My shoulders were a few inches to the right, while my hips were a few inches in the opposite direction. I still remember the outfit I had on. I didn’t even want to go to church because of it. ♥️ It hit my self-esteem hard, but I’m thankful. I’m thankful I learned how to function when things weren’t perfect on the outside. I’m thankful I learned to get past the stares. I’m thankful I learned to get past hurtful comments and still have love for the people that made them. I’m thankful I learned that image is not everything. I’m thankful I learned how to grit and get through it... never giving up on my athleticism or mobility. ♥️ Even with the reminder of the pain present in my everyday life, I’m thankful. You are more than your image. You are more than what a person says about you. You are more than the pain that you feel. You are more than what YOU feel. You are more because you are God’s♥️ A post shared by THE FITTED GEM (@leahpfohl_) on Mar 25, 2019 at 6:49pm PDT You can grab a coffee or tea in the small cafe nook after you purchase your goods to relax and crack open your new stories.
