Florida might not have mountain tops with strenuous hiking activities, but it has many hidden springs to cool off during a hot summer day. The Econfina Creek is a small river in Florida Panhandle that has the clearest water ever and you need to experience it.

The river is surrounded by many trails and camping spots to make it the perfect getaway this season. It offers a lot of recreation opportunities such as camping, boating, fishing, kayaking, bikining, horseback riding and more. But what makes this place unique is the crystal clear blue water spring.

Econfina Creek has many trail access to make this a full day trip. You can choose from Scott Road Trailhead, Pitt Spring Trailhead, and Walsingham Bridge Trailhead. There is also a suspension bridge that will take you to different spring waters.

Visitors have stated the water is pretty cold but very blue. This ecosystem has different terrains such as sandhills, high bluffs, low swamps, boardwalks and many more.

Hikers will enjoy this natural habitat and for beginners we recommend the Two Penny Bridge which is a two-mile trek over moderate terrain. The bridge is located at Scott's Road access.

Paddlers can find several spring at Econfina Spring including Blue Spring and Williford Spring. You would want to go to the clear blue spring located off of SR20 on North Blue Springs Road, Youngstown. This spring has easy access and the perfect cold water after a hike.
