You Can Hang Out With Furry New Friends At This Animal Rescue In North Carolina
You can volunteer too.
If you're a lover of nature, North Carolina is the state you need to head to. There are beaches on the coast and mountains in the middle of the state, so there are endless opportunities to explore the outdoors. One of the things to do in North Carolina is to experience this animal rescue center.
Farmony's Safari Edventure is a wildlife rescue center that takes in kangaroos, wolves, sloths, foxes and many other endangered creatures. This spot acts as a and a learning center for us.
This spot is a non-profit organization that operates mainly on volunteers that want the best for these animals. For over 40 years, Farmony has been providingwith these animals and the environment they live in at this facility.
According to the website, they try to provide homes to these animals in need, as well as educating people about them in the process.
The facility is open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During your time, you can experience animal encounters with the dozen creatures here.
It's even open on rainy days because all of the interactions are inside. Rain or shine, you're welcomed to visit.
The positive side of this location not being a government facility or considered a large zoo, is that you are able to have the hands-on experience and get up close to the animals.
The website states that these animals are their family and they are receiving the best care possible, even with visitors interacting with them.
Farmony's asks you to bring fruits, vegetables, meat, bread or compost materials, including eggshells and orange peels, to feed their animals since they don't get funding from tax dollars being a non-profit. It's like that saying, another man's trash is another man's treasure.
They have a long wish list of items and donations that they need and you can find the whole list, here.
