(@hihealthh) on Apr 22, 2019 at 4:59pm PDT There are many trails to hike at the Falls. If you are a more experienced hiker, you can actually take a 10-mile hike to the southern end of the Appalachian Trail’s southern end, which is Springer Mountain. The most popular trail to hike at Amicalola Falls, and the easiest, is Amicalola Falls Loop Trail. Atlanta Trails rates this hike as a more difficult hike, and a more difficult hike for your furry friends. You can use your guidance to decide whether or not to bring your four-legged friend along your adventure as well! As you hike through the trail, you will notice the beautiful greenery throughout the entire trail, but it does not even compare to the sight you are about to see. It only takes about a mile to make it to the Falls, and boy is that mile worth it. At the top of the crest, you will stop and stare at the waterfall that is 730 feet tall. You will come upon the top of the waterfall and go over bridges and down stairs that wrap around the Falls' multiple tiers. As you descend on your hike, you will eventually be lead to a reflection pool at the bottom of the waterfall. According to the Atlanta Trails website, this is the perfect spot to take a break and have a snack and some water! At the very end of the hike, you will notice playgrounds and some picnic areas so you can reward yourself by having food and drinks at the end of your adventure. This was my first time here. One of my photography goals was to capture a waterfall this summer while I was traveling. This was absolutely stunning. Quite a workout also! #appalachiantrail #backpacking #bestnatureshot #appalachiantrials #amicalolafalls #hikegeorgia #blueridgemountains #naturewalk #naturephotography #liveoutdoors #waterfall #waterfalls #wanderers #travelislife #travelislifechanging #adventuretravel #keepexploring #travelislife #travelphotography #travelgram #travelislifestyle #beachtravellers #travelblogger #naturelovers #landscapephotography #hikingadventures #ilovenature #outdoors #takeahike A post shared by Ryan Harrison (@rhflphotos) on Sep 11, 2018 at 7:12am PDT Not to mention, this is the perfect opportunity for that perfect Instagram photo! The views from the top and even the middle of the waterfall are to die for, and everyone will be following your summer bucket list footsteps. According to the Fall's website, the best time to take this hike is early in the morning before the crowds start to form. Considering that this is the most popular attractions in North Georgia, it can get very busy on a summer day. Getting there early will allow you to get as many pictures as you want and take in the view as long as you want. View this post on Instagram I love the outdoors. Nature gets my mind on an entire other level of photography. Its calming and there is no rush. There is time to take hundreds of photos until I find myself in the exact spot I need to be in that moment to get the picture I had imagined the entire time. These steps are a few of the almost 600 steep steps to the top.. at times I would grow tired and take a break. However at each resting place I'd find the beauty around me. The moral for me was that while I had a goal to be at the top for the amazing views overlooking the valleys, I paused to take in the small beauties are me. That is like life.. we all have goals to be on the top.. to get to whatever we have determined our final destination to be. Don't rush the process and don't compare your timeline with others. Stop and appreciate the journey along the way.. you might learn something unexpected or experience something new for the first time. #appalachiantrail #backpacking #bestnatureshot #appalachiantrials #amicalolafalls #hikegeorgia #blueridgemountains #naturewalk #naturephotography #liveoutdoors #waterfall #waterfalls #wanderers #travelislife #travelislifechanging #adventuretravel #keepexploring #travelislife #travelphotography #travelgram #travelislifestyle #beachtravellers #travelblogger #naturelovers #landscapephotography #hikingadventures #ilovenature #outdoors #takeahike A post shared by Ryan Harrison (@rhflphotos) on Sep 11, 2018 at 7:08am PDT The Falls is located at 418 Amicalola Falls State Park Rd, Dawsonville, GA 30534 and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visit their website to find out more information about the site and the hikes here.
