No matter where you're from, it may feel like the beauty of your beloved state stops at the surface. However, the further you get from the well-known, the more beautiful it can be, especially since so few people have experienced it themselves. One of Missouri's most enchanting cave state parks should be at the top of your bucket list for this summer, and every summer to come. Often referred to as the "Cave State," it's no surprise that Missouri is home to the incredible Onondaga Cave State Park. Normally when visiting a state park, you'll find all the excitement above or underground, but this spot has equally as much on both surface levels. Cave tours are offered to allow visitors to see the caves many formations. You'll be greeted by towering stalagmites, dripping stalactites, and active flowstones the whole way through. For those who might be more on the claustrophobic side, their Vilander Bluff Natural Area has incredible, mesmerizing views. In fact, you can even travel down to the Meramec River for fishing and canoeing.
