You can actually climb to the top of it to get great fall foliage views for miles. Chimney Rock State Park is located in Chimney Rock, North Carolina, about 25 miles from Asheville. This park might be the coolest and most popular park in North Carolina just because of the most amazing views. This is prime time to visit the park because the leaves are still on the trees and it isn't too cold yet. When you get to the top of the mountain, the elevation will be 2,280 feet above sea level. You can either take a state-of-the-art elevator to the top where you will only have to walk up 44 steps. If you're looking for more of an adventure, you can take the Outcroppings Trail where you will get the title of ultimate stairmaster when you make it to the top after climbing 434 steps.
