Netflix has a bunch of awesome movies that are trending right now and you need to watch them. We've got everything from over the top cheesy romances, high school teen heartbreaks and even a hilarious stand-up comedy show. Oh, don't forget about the romcoms.
Here's a list of the best trending movies on Canadian Netflix right now.
The Kissing Booth
Starring: Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi.
The Kissing Booth is one of those super cheesy, over the top, high school romance movies that you hate to watch... but you also just can't stop watching. It's literally sooo cringey and cheesy that it's actually kinda good?
It will literally transport you back in time to those awkward teen years when you had a major crush on your BFFs older brother. If this sounds familiar, you need to watch this flick! Oh, and the main characters from the movie are actually dating in real life! How cute.
Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife
Starring: Ali Wong.
OH MY GOD. We can't get over how hilarious and seriously relatable Ali Wong is. If you haven't heard of her, please stop everything you're doing and go watch her stand-up comedy shows on Netflix now.
Ali Wong rose to fame after she released her first show "Ali Wong: Baby Cobra" on Netflix back in 2016. She just released her second show on Netflix "Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife" where she talks all about her struggles as a new mother. It may sound a bit dull, but trust me... you'll be crying with laughter.

This adorable animated movie is the perfect flick for a girl's night in. It's light, funny and extremely heartwarming. It's also one of the highest rated animated movies out right now! Starring: Lucy Hale, Alexandra Shipp and Alex Wolff.
This story stars Pretty Little Liars actress, Lucy Hale. The movie follows her and her group of girlfriends as they try to deal with life after high school. If that's not seriously relatable, then I don't know what is.
This is definitely a side of Lucy Hale that we've never seen before. She's crass, hilarious and dabbles with drugs in this coming of age story. This movie is seriously underrated and really easy to identify with as a millennial.
Starring: Kathryn Erbe, Madeline Weinstein and Isabella Amara.
This brand new Netflix Original movie is the modern day take on high school romance. This movie follows Alex Truelove, a high school student who's never had a serious sexual experience. You can't have a girl's night without a classic, right? Mamma Mia is a must if you're staying in tonight. It's full of heartwarming moments, romance and hilarity. Oh, and singing.. lots of singing.
If you're a part of the 1% of the population that hasn't seen Mamma Mia, I'll tell you the premise. The musical follows the story of Sophie, a bride-to-be who invites all the men her mother had affairs with in hopes of discovering who her real father is.
F The Prom

Two high schoolers, Maddy and Cole were best friends until high school started. Maddy becomes super popular and leaves Cole behind.
This cast is packed with stars! The movie features Riverdale star Madelaine Petsch and Youtuber Lilly Singh. Madelaine is super cruel in her role as head cheerleader and we love it. Maddy and Cole decide to band together and take revenge against the popular kids. It's the perfect coming of age movie.
Starring: Amy James-Kelly, Amanda Abbington and Michael C. Hall.
This Netflix Original series is seriously creepy and perfect for your BFF that loves a good thriller. I don't know about you, but my friends and I personally looooove to watch a good mystery thriller on Saturday night (with a bottle of wine).
After Michael C. Hall's daughter goes out one night, she goes missing. The story follows Hall's character trying to uncover what happened to his daughter. The story is twisted, dark and full of surprises.
When We First Met

This is for all the guys who were ever "friend zoned". This Netflix Original movie tells the story of Noah, who spends the perfect first night with a girl named Avery but gets rejected to the friend zone. He spends the next three years wondering what he did wrong.
Some have said that this movie is seriously creepy because of Noah's obsession with Avery. Noah transports back in time so he can redo the night they first met, but he ends up in a weird groundhog day situation.

This movie follows the trip of three best friends. Harper, a corporate professional, who is sent to Barcelona, Spain by her boss as a "work trip". This is her first time to let loose and get crazy.

Okay, this is definitely one of those super cheesy high school movies. Forgive me, but these are the perfect movies to throw on in the background while you reminisce with your girlfriends about the old days.
This story is the classic awkward nerdy girl gets a popular girl makeover. She endures romance, heartbreak and loss as a result. It's your typical high-school romance movie.
