A Docuseries About The World's Most Famous Missing Child Case Is Coming To Netflix Canada Tomorrow
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann hits Netflix Canada on March 15th.
While we love true crime docuseries, this docuseries coming to Netflix Canada will be completely different. The series that Netflix usually adds to the streaming site is about serial killers, but they hardly ever dive into kidnappings. A docuseries about the world's most famous missing child is coming to Netflix Canada tomorrow.
Maybe you haven't heard of this case, or maybe you have. However, according to Netflix and all of the people involved in the case, it's one of the eeriest and haunting kidnapping cases of all time. This Netflix series called The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann will revolve around a child named Madeleine McCann, who was 3-years-old at the time. While in Portugal on a family vacation, she vanished from her hotel room.
This happened back in 2007, and the Netflix docuseries takes you through everything that happened. In the synopsis for the show, it says, "A couple's grief over their daughter's disappearance is compounded by a frenzied media and a detective's mistaken belief that they played a part."
This story is not lighthearted. In fact, the parents of the daughter feel as though the docuseries will hinder the case, as it's still ongoing. The couple, named Kate and Gerry McCann, actually made a statement about the docuseries and said, "We are aware that Netflix are planning to screen a documentary in March 2019 about Madeleine's disappearance. The production company told us that they were making the documentary and asked us to participate. We did not see - and still do not see - how this programme will help the search for Madeleine and, particularly given there is an active police investigation, it could potentially hinder it."
If you're looking for a new show to binge watch, I would recommend this one, but only if you think you could handle it. In the trailer, you can hear a man who was involved in the case say, "I've done thousands of cases, with the Madeleine case, I've seen the worst things a human being can see". This has been an ongoing case for the last 12 years, and the Netflix series will take us through all of it. The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann drops tomorrow, March 15th, on Netflix Canada.
