The Bachelorette Producers Released This Statement Addressing Lincoln Adim's Sexual Assault Scandal

He was convicted for indecent assault and battery for groping an adult female.

If you're watching The Bachelorette this season, then you probably know who Lincoln Adim is.

Last week, Lincoln was at the centre of controversy when he ruffled a bunch of feathers among the other male contestants. After winning the group date rose on the Wedding date, he received a picture of himself and Becca. To our surprise, he boasted around the house, showing off the picture to anyone and everyone.

After this date, many of the other contestants confessed that they didn't believe he was here for the right reasons and that he just wanted to win.

Fast forward to Wednesday, June 13th, Reality Steve revealed that the same contestant vying for Becca's heart, Lincoln Adim, was actually convicted of indecent assault and battery for groping an adult woman.

According to Cosmopolitan, the assault happened on a harbor cruise ship in 2016. He was found guilty on May 21st. He was sentenced to one year in a house of correction, with that term suspended for a two-year probationary period.

The County District Attorney's Office Press Secretly confirmed "The judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week during those two years." They continued, "If he complies with the judge's orders, he will not have to serve out his term, but if he fails to comply with those orders or re-offends, he could be ordered to serve out the year behind bars."

The Press Secretary continued on, "[Adim is] expected to register as a sex offender." They also confirmed that Adim's is public record in the state of Massachussetts.

Warner Bros. issued the following statement about Adim's conviction.

"No one on The Bachelorette production had any knowledge about the incident or charges when Lincoln Adim was cast, and he himself denied ever having engaged in or having been charged with any sexual misconduct. We employ a well-respected and highly experienced third party who has done thousands of background checks consistent with industry standards to do a nationwide background check in this case. The report we received did not reference any incident or charge relating to the recent conviction - or any other charges relating to sexual misconduct. We are currently investigating why the report did not contain this information, which we will share when we have it."

Even though they stated that they have a third party company that conducts "thousands of background checks" it seems that Adim slipped through the cracks.
