The stars were once in town! Keep a keen eye open for hotspots while watching these popular movies filmed in British Columbia. Schools, golf clubs, and even the PNE have had their 15 seconds of fame on the big screen.

Vancouver is an increasingly popular filming location on the west coast, used by tons of big movies and TV shows today. It's one of the cheapest areas for big Hollywood productions to take place and is just north of the border from many celebs' homes in Los Angeles.

Shows including Riverdale, The Good Doctor, and Supernatural call B.C. their home while filming takes place. 

They're joined by these eight famous movies we grew up watching that were all exclusively filmed in the province. 

She's The Man

The 2006 romcom starring Amanda Bynes was filmed entirely in B.C., per IMDb. Locations include Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby, John H. McDonald House in New Westminster, as well as Granville Mall, Point Grey Secondary School, University of British Columbia, and Vancouver College all in Vancity.

Happy Gilmore

Adam Sandler's 1996 comedy was filmed all around the province according to MovieMaps. That includes locations at Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club in Pitt Meadows, Furry Creek Golf & Country Club, and Vancouver's Stanley Park and the PNE.

Little Women

The star-studded cast in the 1994 drama was filmed in B.C. cities including Victoria, Cobble Hill, and Vancouver. IMDb writes that Craigdarroch Castle and North Shore Studios were two major production locations.

Deadpool

Vancouver's own Ryan Reynolds went back to his roots for the 2016 comedy superhero flick. IMDb claims that locations used for the film were No 5 Orange, Chinatown, and Georgia Viaduct in Vancity, as well as Royal Roads University in Victoria, and Surrey was used for the final fight scene.

Good Boys

The 2019 adventure comedy was filmed in Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Yorkson Creek Middle School in Langley City.

The A-Team

The decade-old adventure thriller took place all over the most beautiful areas of B.C. Locations include Kamloops, Vancouver, Coquitlam, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, and Burnaby.

Final Destination 

Their final destination in the 2000 horror-thriller was in tons of B.C. hotspots. MovieMaps writes that a home at 1312 Balfour Ave. was used for production, as well as Vancouver International Airport, and the area of Bridge Street and Delta Street.

Scary Movie 

According to Movie Locations, the 20-year-old horror parody flick was filmed mostly in "the picturesque fishing village of Steveston HarbourRichmond, on the Fraser River south of Vancouver." They also add that Vancouver Technical Secondary School was used too.
