If there's one thing that the team at Marvel never fails to get right, it's their casting. Who better to play Tony Stark than Robert Downey Jr., or Peter Parker than Tom Holland? The actors chosen to play these roles always win over a special place in their fan's hearts, simply because they embody the characters so well. As of late, a new actor has been in talks to join the Marvel universe - Canadian actor Keanu Reeves could be the next Marvel superhero.
There's absolutely no disputing that Reeves has the strength and stamina for the role - he is John Wick, after all, and who's more badass than that? In an interview with Comicbook.com, Marvel studio head Kevin Feige admitted that the company has been chasing after Reeves for quite some time. "We talk to him for almost every film we make," Feige said.
"I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it,” Feige went on.
No specific role has been picked out for Reeves, but those at the Marvel studio aren't the only ones who would like to see the John Wick actor suit up. Comicbook.com is seriously behind the idea and has created a master list of Marvel characters that Reeves would portray perfectly.
Characters on the list include the Dr. Strange villain, Nightmare, Namor the Submariner, and Moon Knight, among others. Despite all the hype surrounding the idea, Reeves has remained pretty silent, so it's hard to say whether he'll join the Marvel Universe or not.
Currently, Reeves is keeping busy with plenty of projects, including a cameo in Netflix's Always Be My Maybe, and a reprisal of one of his most iconic roles for the Bill & Ted sequel, which will be hitting theatres in 2020.
Marvel is also keeping busy over the coming months with Black Panther and Dr. Strange sequels, a solo Black Widow film, and a new project, The Eternals that's rumoured to have Angelina Jolie starring. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Reeves joins the Marvel family!
