Several Canadian Artists Forced To Postpone Coachella Performances Due To Coronavirus

The party will have to wait. Coachella 2020 is reportedly being postponed until the fall because of the coronavirus. That means the Canadian performers scheduled to perform the concert will have to put their plans on hold!
TMZ reported that they have "confirmed agents for several acts booked for Coachella have been told the new dates are the consecutive weekends of Oct. 9 and Oct. 16."
The festival that takes place in Indio, California is held over two weekends in April so it was fast approaching before news of the postponement was announced. This year, the weekends of April 10 and 17 were scheduled for the festival.
According to CBC, affected artists include Carly Rae Jepsen, Jessie Reyez, and Daniel Caesar as well as .
Reyez first shared news of her performance when the lineups were announced in early January. She wrote, "BITCHHHHHH AND THE SAME DAY AS FRANK ( YALL KNOW IM A STAN) MAN 2020 I AINT MAD AT U here’s a 2015 video of me doing a cover of Ying yang twins in my parents apartment in Toronto hoping I’d get noticed lol if you’re chasing what your passion is I hope you keep goin".
CBC also claims that "electronic producer Deadmau5, who is pegged to play DJ sets under his techno persona Testpilot." His scheduled performances were on Saturday, April 11 and 18.
And Dundas, Ontario's "Dan Snaith, better known as Juno-winning musician Caribou" had had appearances set for the same two days.
Headliners scheduled were Rage Against the Machine on Friday, April 10 and 17, Travis Scott on Saturday, April 11 and 18, and Frank Ocean on Sunday, April 12, and 19.
This isn't the first cancellation for Canadian artists and shows due to the coronavirus. Just last week, Avril Lavigne had to cancel her Headinternational tour. Jeopardy! also had to nix the to protect host Alex Trebek who is currently battling stage four cancer.
