It's that time of year again! In May of 2019, a new Netflix original blew viewers away with its dark sense of humour and star-studded cast. Now, one year later, the premiere date for Dead to Me season two has been released, and fans are already counting down the days until they can binge it.

In season one we saw Jen (played by Christina Applegate) attempt to find a new normal for herself after her husband died in a mysterious hit-and-run accident. While attending a support group, Jen met Judy (played by Linda Cardellini), and the two quickly became the best of friends.

As the season went on, Jen began to uncover some of Judy's dark hidden secrets, which left the pair in a messy situation (to say the least!) in the final episode. The cliffhanger ending has had fans wondering what could possibly happen next.

PEOPLE reports that season two will pick up in "the aftermath of that bloody backyard reveal."

Their report explains, "The irrepressible pair once again struggle to keep their secrets buried. With a surprising new visitor in town and Detective Perez (Diana Maria Riva) hot on their heels, Jen and Judy take drastic measures to protect their loved ones and each other — no matter the cost.”

The show's first season faired incredibly well amongst viewers, scoring a whopping 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a rating of 8.1/10 on IMDb.

Applegate was also nominated for an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild for her performance, PEOPLE reports.

The teaser trailer has only been out for a few hours, but fans are already ecstatic about the exciting news.

"YAYYYY I’m so happy, I thought I would not like this show, but I obviously loved it and binged it in one piece," one comment reads.

"Man this show is GOOD. Amazing actresses," commented another viewer.

The streaming service has renewed several other popular shows for more seasons so far this year including The CircleLove Is BlindLocke & Key, and Sex Education, among others.

Season two of Dead to Me is coming to Netflix on May 8. You can check out the teaser trailer for the show below.
