Guy Fieri Was Seen Shooting “Diners, Drive-Ins, And Dives” In Ottawa Yesterday
Next stop: Flavourtown.
I don't know about you guys, but when I'm kicking back at home, one of my favourite things to do is watch the Food Network. Something about cooking shows has always been so soothing to me, even though I'm far from being a master chef myself. We all know that the king of the Food Network is Guy Fieri, and he's been showing some serious love to Canada lately! Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives was seen shooting in Ottawa yesterday.
On Thursday, August 29, one of North America's most prominent celebrity chefs was spotted on the patio of Ottawa's OCCO Kitchen & Bar on Albert Street. Fieri was not alone - the TV personality had a camera crew in tow, so it's pretty safe to assume he was shooting an episode of his hit show.
According to the Ottawa Business Journal, restaurant personnel, as well as patrons of its neighbour, the Albert at Bay Suite Hotel, refused to comment on whether Fieri was there to shoot an episode of Triple D or not. However, OCCO's Instagram page did note that their downtown location would be closed until 5 pm yesterday for a "private function".
Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is known to feature restaurants with extremely unique and mouthwatering foods, as well as very cool concepts. OCCO fits that description perfectly, according to the owner, Mark Steele. "It’s a standalone restaurant that thrives on being edgy and inventive. To pair that up with a hotel, I think we’re probably setting a new trend.”
Fieri has been no stranger to Canada this summer - back in July, he headed out west to host the Cowboy's Music Festival Cook-Off BBQ Invitational at the. The event was a massive success and Fieri had a great time, so we're not surprised to see him back so quickly.
Make sure to keep an eye out for OCCO Kitchen on the next episode of Triple D! The show airs every Friday evening on The Food Network this fall.
