For many people, it's not the holiday season until you watch the Home Alone movies while munching on popcorn and sipping hot chocolate. The first and second movies star Macaulay Culkin and Schitt's Creek star Catherine O'Hara opposite villians Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. Home Alone 3 brought in a whole new cast and only got itself a 4.4/10 rating on IMDb. So there are pretty high standards for the Home Alone reboot for Disney+ that will start filming in Montreal early next year.
Though very little information about the film has been announced, PopGoesTheNews recently shared details about the filming location and other reboots to look forward to from Disney.
They reported that "cameras are scheduled to roll from early February to mid-April" though "no casting details have been announced."
So if you live in the Montreal area, look out for camera crew and famous faces beginning in two months.
PopGoesTheNews also wrote that "Disney has owned the rights to Home Alone since its March acquisition of 20th Century Fox. The company also plans to remake Night at the Museum, Cheaper by the Dozen and Diary of a Wimpy Kid."
News about all of the reboots was first announced in August this year.
Unfortunately, Culkin won't be reprising his role as Kevin, but he did tweet a hilarious photo following the news of the reboot writing, "This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like."
Since starring in Home Alone in 1990, the 39-year-old starred in My Girl and The Good Son. He most recently appeared as himself in episodes of The Jim Gaffigan Show and played Andrew Cross in the TV series called Kings.
Since the Home Alone reboot will finish filming in April 2020, we likely won't get it for another year or two.
Luckily, Disney+ just added all three movies in the franchise to the streaming platform for you to enjoy this holiday season.
