Most people have a list of their favourite actors tucked away somewhere in their brain, but it's pretty much indisputable that there's also a universal list of talented actors that almost everyone in the world loves. One of the actors on that list is none other than John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves. Over the years, Keanu has had a very successful career in many big movies, but he likes to throw the occasional bit of fun in there as well. Keanu Reeves' Spongebob Movie cameo has Twitter totally freaking out.
If you've logged onto Twitter today, odds are good that you've seen some buzz about Keanu Reeves. The actor has been in the news a lot lately, especially since going public about his relationship with Alexandra Grant.
His newfound love isn't the only reason he's making headlines, though. Fans were very surprised to find out today that Reeves has a cameo in the upcoming film The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run.
This isn't the first cameo Reeves has done in his career. He also played himself in the hilarious and adorable Netflix Original film Always Be My Maybe, and the Noah Centineo film SPF-18, which you can also check out on Netflix Canada.
Reeves' cameo definitely came as a surprise to people everywhere, but nobody is mad about it.
"Look at how much of a national treasure #KeanuReeves is He's just inexplicably in the new #SpongeBobMovie and we're not even going to question why," one user tweeted. "To the executive or animator or writer working on #SpongeBobMovie that came up with the pitch of, "You know what live-action cameo this new Spongebob Movie needs? Keanu Reeves!" Thank You," added another.
Apart from the epic Reeves cameo, The Spongebob Movie will also include big names like Awkwafina, Reggie Watts, and Kelly Marie Tran. The film follows Spongebob and Patrick as they head out to find Gary, Spongebob's lifelong snail friend who's been kidnapped.
The film hits theatres in May of 2020, but you can check out the trailer (and Keanu Reeves) below.
