It might feel like every time you get really invested in a hit series, it all comes crashing down when the show doesn't get renewed for another season. It just happened with Anne with an E, and there are quite a few Netflix Originals that didn't get their chance to truly shine. Unfortunately, another one is being added to the list because Netflix Canada's Daybreak got cancelled after one season and fans are pretty upset.
The premiere of the series was on October 24 and it was pretty exciting to see Canadian representation in the co-creator, Brad Peyton, and one of the stars, Cody Kearsley.
You may know British Columbia born Kearsley as Moose Mason from Riverdale, and Peyton hails from Gander, Newfoundland.
Another person called the show "a total gem."
This user reached out to Netflix to express their disappointment writing, "This is beyond nearsighted on @Netflix's part. Stop killing quality content! How are shows supposed to grow and reach their audiences if they're never given the chance?"
Other stars in Daybreak included Ferris Bueller's Day Off star Matthew Broderick, who played the principal of Glendale High where all the students attended.
Colin Ford starred as Josh Wheeler, Alyvia Alyn Lind played Angelica Green, Sophie Simnett played Sam Dean, and Austin Crute was Wesley Fists.
The plot of the show revolved around Wheeler, who's living in a post-apocalyptic world as he looks for his missing girlfriend and meets misfits along the way.
You can still catch the series on Netflix Canada, just don't get too invested because one season is all we're getting.
