At last! The Canadian production hasn’t been on the air since the fall of 2018, but luckily for fans, that’s all about to change. Netflix’s Wynonna Earp Season 4 is finally underway.

According to Vulture, fans became worried in early 2019 when the cast had yet to return to Calgary for filming.

When the media platform reached out for a statement from executive producer Emily Andras all she revealed was, “Wynonna Earp means the world to so many of us — crew and cast and fans alike. And the story’s not over.”

Cast members also relayed their confusion about why their fourth-season contracts weren’t being carried out with a tweet from creator Melanie Scrofano reading, “I don’t know anything, unfortunately. All we know is we aren’t shooting right now and don’t know why.”

It wasn’t until January of 2020 when fans finally got confirmation that season four was in the works.

The official Twitter account announced that the cast had returned to filming with a picture of the cast at a table read, “And we’re back!! #Earpnow.”

New cast members Andrew Phung and Martina Ortiz-Luis have even shared how excited they are to be joining the team.

“Hi #Earpers, my name is Andrew Phung and I can’t wait to meet you in season 4 of #WynonnaEarp!” said Phung even attaching a video message for fans.

Ortiz-Luiz seemed super happy in a tweet saying, “Hi Twitter, I’m currently filming in Calgary and I’M SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE that I’ll be joining the cast of @WynonnaEarp, as new chick, “Rachel” this upcoming season!!!”

Andras and Scrofano recently spoke to TV Insider about the upcoming season saying, "Because it's been such a fight, I'm still a little on-edge.”

If you aren’t familiar with Wynonna Earp, the show follows Wynonna Earp who is tasked with battling dangerous beings raised by the dead that were murdered by her ancestors. She also struggles to keep the rest of her hometown safe from the supernatural beings that live near them in the Canadian Rockies.

There has yet to be a premiere date set for season 4, but the previous three seasons are streaming on Netflix Canada.
