These Are All Of The Underrated Shows & Movies Coming To Netflix Canada In June 2019
For all your Netflix n' Chill needs.
Since it launched its online streaming service in 2007, Netflix has taken over the lives of so many people. It definitely started out small, but it's quickly become the go-to hub for hundreds of movies and TV shows that people LOVE to binge watch, including tons of original content. Since a new month is coming up, here's a list of new shows and movies coming to Netflix Canada in June 2019.
A lot of these are movies and shows you may remember from years ago, or ones that simply never got the hype they really deserve! If you're looking for something new to watch, be sure to check these out over the coming weeks:
A Dog's Purpose
Type: Adventure, Comedy, Drama
If you're in the mood for a real tear-jerker, A Dog's Purpose is 100% the movie for you (especially if you've ever owned a pet, or have a soft spot for animals). It tells the story through the eyes of a dog, who seeks to discover his purpose on Earth over the course of several different lifetimes with many different owners.
Type: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Inception has always had a reputation for being a seriously confusing movie, but that's why people love it so much. Not only is the plot totally twisted, but it also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, so you're in for a double treat. It's about a thief who steals corporate secrets through dream technology, but when he takes on a new project, things become twisted.
Type: Adventure, Sci-Fi, Thriller
If we're being honest, I was so scared of Jurassic Park as a kid. The movie may be from 1993, but the animation and creation of the dinosaurs were far beyond its time. Watching it again now may make it seem cheesy, but it was a childhood favourite for a lot of people!
Starring Paul Rudd and Seann Willam Scott, Role Models is about two party-animal friends that work as energy drink representatives. When their wild behaviour forces them into a reality check, they find themselves enrolled in a Big Brother program, where they mentor kids in an attempt to get their heads on straight.
The older you get, the more you realize how realistic the plot of Couples Retreat really is. Big names like Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Kristen Bell, and Ken Jeong grace the big screen in this film, which is all about a group of friends who set off on a couple's retreat on a tropical island. One of the couples is facing serious marital issues, but when the others find out that they also have to participate in therapy sessions, trouble in paradise comes quickly.
Type: Action, Crime, Drama
After being in an accident as a kid, a young man named Baby (played by Ansel Elgort) pursues a career as a getaway driver. He has a reputation for being the best, so he quickly makes a name for himself in the industry. Unfortunately, at the same time Baby finds himself a girlfriend, he also gets involved in a heist that's doomed to fail.
Type: Comedy, Drama, Musical
I was personally devastated when Glee was taken off Netflix, but now that it's coming back in June, I'll probably watch all 6 seasons again. If you're not familiar, the show is about a high school glee club that's relentlessly bullied and seen as underdogs. As they learn to work together though, they quickly prove that they're a force to be reckoned with.
