If you’re in search of something new and exciting to watch tonight, you’re in luck. October Faction on Netflix just came out today and the series is impressing audiences so far. The cast is not only full of very talented Canadian actors, but the show was filmed in Ontario.
If you’re not familiar with the series, it’s based on comic books of the same name by Steve Niles and Damien Worm and tells the story of two parents, Fred and Deloris Allen. After Fred’s father passes away, the couple returns to their hometown with their teenage twins.
October Faction is intended to take place in a small town in upstate New York, but according to The Cinemaholic, the show was actually shot throughout Ontario (primarily in Cambridge and Hamilton) from September to December of 2018.
One key Cambridge location that was used for the filming of Netflix’s latest original series is the Mount View Cemetery. It’s a historical landmark located west of the city’s downtown area that was established in 1867, according to Geneofun.
This is where the funeral of Fred’s late father takes place, and according to a tweet, the cast was seen filming here during mid-September of 2018.
The Cinemaholic lists other noteworthy Cambridge filming locations as Galt Arena Gardens, Soper Park, Market Lot, Lions Club, and Blenheim and Blair roads, just to name a few.
While in Hamilton, the cast frequented a spot called The James Street Bookseller, which is one of the city’s few independent bookstores that’s known for its vintage decor and iconic exposed brick walls.
The show may have only come out on Netflix today, but it seems like people already can’t get enough of October Faction.
