Passionate One Direction fans definitely remember the heartbreaking moment when the band announced a hiatus over three years ago. While that meant the end of music for the men as a group, it also meant the beginning of solo albums and tours which get you up close and personal with the British and Irish hunks. All five members have done pretty well on their own, proving that they have their own individual sound and style to share. Last week, Louis Tomlinson announced his own tour which includes a small venue in Toronto. And yesterday, Niall Horan announced a new tour as well. Niall Horan's North American tour only has one Canadian stop and it's in Toronto.
Horan shared the news all over his social media and it seems like he's just as excited as his fans are. The Nice To Meet Ya North American Tour 2020 begins on April 20 in Nashville, Tennessee and will take Horan across the United States. On May 6, he'll cross the border to make a stop at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and give love to his Canadian fans. The tour is named after the song he just released, which was his first single in over a year.
If you're nowhere near The Six, then don't worry because the Irishman ended his announcement tweet with "More dates to come soon" which we hope includes a few major Canadian cities.
Horan's North American tour is part of his second solo album, which we're anticipating sometime soon with no official release date yet. His first debut album, Flicker, might just have to hold you over in the meantime if you miss hearing his suave voice.
And if you still weren't excited enough, Horan is bringing a couple of pals with him too. His real-life best friend, Lewis Capaldi, will be one of his special guests on the tour. He's also bringing along American singer and songwriter, Fletcher, as a special guest, too.
You may not know Capaldi's name yet since he's fairly new to the entertainment industry, but you definitely know his songs. Someone You Loved was released almost a year ago and since then has taken over the radio and music charts, landing itself at #1 on the Billboard Canada Top 100 Songs Chart right now. The Scotland-born 23-year-old will also be playing songs from his 2019 album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. Fletcher, a 25-year-old from New Jersey, also released an album this year which includes radio hits like Undrunk and If You're Gonna Lie.
Horan has never been shy about sharing his love for Canada and he often travels here for concerts and press interviews. He was in Toronto earlier this month promoting Nice To Meet Ya when it first debuted, and interviewer Ben Mulroney called it a "pretty sexy song." And back in 2018 when he was in Toronto for his first solo tour, he shared the love by tweeting, "Great to be back in canada ! I love this country .. Toronto show tonight".
Tickets for the Nice To Meet Ya North American Tour 2020 go on sale on November 8.
