The Good Place’s Manny Jacinto recently brought his time as Jason Mendoza on the hit NBC comedy to an end. Now, after four years of filming in Los Angeles, the 32-year-old actor has returned to his home country and is filming a new TV series drastically different from the sit-com.
The series, Brand New Cherry Flavor, is based on a novel written by Todd Grimson. Deadline has described the series as the life of Lisa Nova, a film director, who is thrown into the world of the supernatural and forced on a journey that will change the way she views herself and the world forever.
According to Inside Vancouver, filming for Brand New Cherry Flavor has been running since November 25 with production set to end on March 2.
Filming locations so far, according to What’sFilming, include Burnaby, B.C.
Other cast members include Catherine Keener, Eric Lange, and Jeff Ward.
This is the B.C. native’s second project since departing from The Good Place.
As stated on IMDb, his film Top Gun: Maverick alongside Tom Cruise, is currently in post-production with an upcoming premiere date of June 26, 2020.
Although season 1 consisting of eight episodes has been confirmed on IMDb, there has yet to be a release date announced for Brand New Cherry Flavor.
