If you're unsure whether you should start watching that new show you've had your eye on, the best way to get an honest review is to see what other people are saying about it online. Most recently, The Witcher on Netflix Canada has been catching a lot of people's attention and stealing the limelight from other popular shows.
Although the streaming service tends to keep a lot of its data under wraps, one really good way to see how a show is fairing on Netflix is to check out its rating on sites like IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes.
For a very long time, Stranger Things held Netflix's top spot on IMDb with a rating of 8.8/10. The latest season of the show was streamed by over 40 million accounts in its first four days.
Other Netflix originals with the same score include House of Cards, Peaky Blinders, Narcos, and Black Mirror.
When the platform released The Witcher last Wednesday though, Stranger Things kissed the top spot goodbye as Henry Cavill's role as Geralt earned the show an 8.9/10 on IMDb.
The new series also beat out Stranger Things on Rotten Tomatoes, earning an audience score of 92%, just a bit higher than the aforementioned's 91% score.
What's unique about The Witcher is that it's based on a series of books, which then led to a video game, which finally led to the development of this new Netflix Original.
People have compared the series to Game of Thrones, not only because of its medieval setting but also because of its twisted storylines that will have you hooked from the very first episode.
Another big project coming from the streaming platform this month is the highly anticipated second season of You, a chilling thriller about a romance gone wrong.
The Witcher may have just come out less than a week ago, but Netflix has already confirmed that it's getting a second season. You can watch the trailer for the show below.
