While Canada does have a pretty impressive roster of famous musicians to boast, arguably one of the most popular is none other than Drake. The rapper released his first mixtape back in 2006 and in the years since he's blown up to be a global phenomenon. Apart from making his own music, Drizzy has also helped out a collection of other artists on their quest for fame. If this is news to you, you may be wondering — which artists has Drake signed?

After securing his spot as a hip hop legend, Drake launched OVO Sound along with Oliver El-Khatib and Noah "40" Shebib back in 2012. The 6ix God himself was the first official artist signed to the label, although it didn't take long for the Toronto native to find other amazing Canadian artists that deserve recognition.

One of the coolest things about OVO Sound is that it truly does focus almost solely on helping grow Canadian artists. As someone who grew up here, Drake has first-hand experience figuring out not only how to make it, but also how to kill it in the industry, and that's exactly what he's teaching these new artists.

If you're looking to expand your music library, be sure to listen to some of these talented OVO signees:

PARTYNEXTDOOR

PARTYNEXTDOOR was signed to OVO Sound back in 2013. The Mississauga born artist has released two studio albums and several EPs over the years, and according to XXL, he has a new album on the way in 2020.

PND first collaborated with Drizzy on his Nothing Was The Same album, but the two have gone on to make hits like "Come and See Me" and "Loyal".

Majid Jordan

R&B duo Majid Jordan signed to OVO Sound in 2013, after collaborating with Drake on "Hold On, We're Going Home" on his "Nothing Was the Same" album.

The pair's debut EP was released in 2014 and since then they've released two studio albums. A new album hasn't been confirmed yet, although they did drop the single "Superstar" back in October, and tell Exclaim! that they've been "working on so much" recently.

Roy Woods

Back in 2015, Drake was featured on the Roy Woods single "Drama", and after that, the Brampton-born singer was on everyone's radar.

Woods released his first studio album, "Say, Less", in 2017 and in the years since he's dropped a few singles here and there. No new album has been confirmed yet for 2020, but the year is just getting started so who knows what could happen?

dvsn

Yet another R&B duo signed to OVO Sound is Toronto's own dvsn. The pair joined the label in 2016 and subsequently put out two studio albums — "Sept. 5th and Morning After".

The group released two singles in 2019, "Miss Me?" and "In Between", although word of a new album has yet to be confirmed by dvsn or OVO.

Baka Not Nice

Baka Not Nice is one of OVO's newest names, joining the label back in 2017. The 40-year old was born in Montreal, and actually became close with Drake when he was working as a part of his security team, according to Hot New Hip Hop.

The rapper has released several singles throughout his career, as well as two EPs, the most recent one being "no long talk"in 2019.

The Weeknd

The Weeknd may not have signed to OVO Sound, but it was definitely his time spent collaborating with Drake that brought the Scarborough-born singer to mainstream music's attention.

The two released "The Zone" together and The Weeknd was credited as a writer on five songs from Drizzy's Take Care album, coining the term "OVOXO sound".

There was apparently beef between the two, but Drake recently squashed those rumours and confirmed that he'd love to work with The Weeknd again in his 2019 single "War".
