If you've ever seen an episode of The Voice, you probably know that the main source of entertainment is not the actual singing (although that is pretty good), but it's really the commentary between Blake Shelton and Adam Levine that steals the show and keeps audiences laughing. Since his departure from the show was announced today, people have been seriously upset, but no one more than his co-stars. Here are some of your favourite celebrities reacting to Adam Levine leaving The Voice.

Adam had initially signed on to be a judge for the shows 17th season, but today, May 24th, he announced that after the 16th season ends, he'll be stepping down and former coach Gwen Stefani will return to the red chair to take his place.

He posted a super sweet throwback photo with some of his former co-stars this morning to announce the news. He sent out plenty of thank you's to everyone involved in the show and admitted that the experience has changed his life forever.

Of course, Adam isn't the only one getting emotional about his departure, fellow host Blake Shelton shared a sweet (and hilarious message) on Twitter today.

Kelly Clarkson, who joined the show as a judge in February of 2018 also had a message to share.

Former contestants of the show are also upset about the news of Adam's departure, but they all had nothing but good things to say about their former mentor.

You may be seeing less of Adam on The Voice, but worry not - he's not leaving NBC totally. His latest project is a new show called Songland, which he'll be executive producing. The show is similar to The Voice in that it calls on undiscovered artists, but this time its songwriters rather than singers.

Songland premieres on NBC on Tuesday, May 28th. You can check out the trailer for Adam's newest show below.
