With Stranger Things 2 having just wrapped up, the show's writers didn't take long to confirm that Eleven and the gang would be returning for a third season. With no known spoilers or casting calls in the works, all we have to do now is wait - and apparently for quite a long time.

David Harbour - aka Chief Hopper - has revealed to Variety that 2018 will probably come and go without a single season of Stranger Things. In fact, the show's creators probably won't have scripts ready until 2019. Yes, 2019.

He said:  "I mean, one of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them. Like, you probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019. But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day."

If you thought 2017 was the worst year ever, it looks like 2018 won't be so hot either. Of course, the wait - no matter how long it may be - will be worth it.

Looks like next year is going to be a dark and empty time for fandom. Game of Thrones fans are also out of luck, as star Sophie Turner revealed that the show would not return until 2019 either.

We now have a boring 365 days ahead of us, everyone.
