While the Game of Thrones cast has managed to stay relatively tight-lipped about details on the upcoming eighth season in the franchise, it seems one actress accidentally (or maybe not) spilled some details that are driving fans insane!
Maisie Williams was talking to the Metro about the shooting process for the new season, and in turn, let details of the schedule slip. Revealing that they are going to be filming for the next twelve months, then from there, we are going to have to wait four more months for it to actually show up on our TV screens. Verbatim she told the reporter,
"We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April ," she told the paper. "That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all."
So... yeah, that totals up to a whopping 16 months. Over a YEAR. Though if you are a seasoned Game of Thrones fan (or HBO fan in general), you know good things take time. We'd say you could distract yourself with the new season of Westworld until it's out but that isn't coming out for centuries either. If it's any consolation, with the amount of time they are spending on this final season, it's slated to be absolutely incredible!
Of course, this definitely isn't definitive considering scheduling could be subject to all sorts of delays or (hopefully) wrap up faster than what's planned. While HBO hasn't commented on William's interview, we doubt they will considering they love to keep us on our toes and waiting centuries for new seasons of anything these days. Though we're pretty sure Arya Stark is a sound source.
